Cyan Names New Offshore Wind Service Vessel

Cyan Renewables has christened its new service operations vessel, Cyan Wind Seeker, marking a key milestone in offshore wind logistics. The hybrid diesel-electric vessel will begin a 15-year charter supporting Siemens Gamesa at the Hai Long offshore wind project in Taiwan.  Designed for efficiency and sustainability, the vessel features advanced propulsion systems and onboard batteries to reduce fuel consumption, emissions, and noise. This innovation enhances offshore maintenance operations by enabling safer, more reliable access to turbines. The customer-focused approach ensures improved operational efficiency and long-term service reliability. The development reflects growing investment in specialised vessels, supporting large-scale offshore wind deployment and strengthening global renewable energy infrastructure.

DeepOcean Wins Taiwan Cable Installation Deal

DeepOcean has secured a contract to support inter-array cable installation for the TPC Phase II offshore wind project in Taiwan. The scope includes cable installation, engineering, and project management, strengthening the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific offshore wind market.  The work will be carried out in partnership with Dong Fang Offshore using the upgraded subsea vessel Orient Adventurer, equipped with advanced cable-laying systems and remotely operated vehicles.  This project highlights innovation in offshore cable installation, enabling efficient connection of turbines to substations. The customer-focused approach ensures reliable power transmission and project execution. With work running through 2026, the deal reflects growing investment in Taiwan’s offshore wind sector and global renewable energy infrastructure expansion.

Hitachi Energy and Orsted Sign Offshore Power Partnership

Hitachi Energy and Orsted have agreed a strategic partnership to enhance offshore wind electrical systems, supporting faster and more efficient project delivery. The collaboration focuses on standardising key components such as substations and grid connections to shorten lead times and reduce overall project costs. This initiative highlights innovation in offshore wind infrastructure, enabling scalable deployment of large projects while improving reliability. The customer-focused approach ensures efficient integration of renewable energy into power grids. By streamlining engineering and supply chains, the partnership aims to lower the levelised cost of energy and accelerate global offshore wind expansion. The agreement reflects strong investment in grid technology, a critical enabler of the energy transition.
