Greentech Lead America: The Electric Circuit has signed
an agreement with Place des Arts, a performing arts center in Quebec, to
install four public EV charging stations in its underground parking lot. These
are the first charging stations in the Quartier des spectacles.
This partnership will allow users of plug-in electric
vehicles to have access to additional charging
stations in downtown Montreal. The charging stations will be online
from next September.
The Electric Circuit founded in partnership between Les Rotisseries
St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence metropolitaine de transport (AMT) and
Hydro-Quebec, is a major milestone in the rollout of the charging
infrastructure needed to support the arrival of plug-in electric vehicles in
Quebec.
Electric Circuit allows drivers to top up their batteries
on the road. Users of the public charging network also have access to a 24/7
telephone helpline run by CAA-Quebec as well as a charging station locator
service.
Electric Circuit estimates that there will be more than 120
charging stations in Quebec by fall 2012 and it is planning to deploy 400 V
faster charging stations in Quebec.
