Skoda Auto, a Volkswagen unit, has revealed its achievements in the EV business during the first half of 2025, underlining its strategic transformation toward sustainable mobility.
Electrified vehicles now make up nearly one in four of its European sales, showcasing growing customer acceptance and trust in the brand’s EV offerings, Skoda Auto said.
Key EV Achievements
EV and PHEV Deliveries Surge: Skoda delivered 72,000 electric vehicles and 21,400 plug-in hybrids in Europe in H1-2025. Together, these electrified models accounted for 22.8 percent of total regional deliveries, up significantly from 9.4 percent in H1-2024.
Enyaq and Elroq Lead the Charge: Strong demand for the new all-electric Enyaq and Elroq models propelled sales. By the end of June, Skoda received over 120,000 orders for these models combined.
Top-Ranking BEVs in Europe: The Elroq was the best-selling BEV in the Czech Republic and Denmark during H1 2025 and topped EV charts across Europe in April, May, and June. The Enyaq ranked second in Switzerland’s BEV segment.
RS Electric Models Launched: Skoda expanded its electric portfolio by introducing RS sports versions of the Enyaq and Elroq, boosting brand appeal and attracting new customer segments.
Pricing trends
Skoda Auto has recently updated its electric vehicle pricing strategy in Europe, particularly following the launch of the facelifted 2025 Enyaq series. The refreshed Enyaq comes with enhanced features, improved efficiency, and more equipment as standard, contributing to a slight increase in base prices. In key European markets, the starting price of the Enyaq 85 is around €48,900, while the UK entry-level Enyaq SE L 60 begins at approximately £39,000. Higher trims like the Sportline 85x are priced close to £49,000.
Prior to the facelift, Skoda dealers across Europe, including in Hungary and Ireland, offered significant discounts on older Enyaq stock. These markdowns ranged from €5,000 to €8,000 or up to 35%, as dealers attempted to clear inventory of Enyaq 60 and 80 variants. Many buyers were able to purchase well-equipped vehicles at lower-than-listed prices during this period.
Skoda is also expanding its EV lineup with more affordable options. The Elroq, a compact electric SUV expected to launch in 2025, will be priced around €33,900. Additionally, Skoda plans to introduce the Epiq, an entry-level electric crossover with a target price under €25,000. These new models signal Skoda’s strategy to reach a broader customer base by offering both premium and budget-friendly EVs.
Strategic Focus and Roadmap
Skoda’s EV strategy focuses on providing freedom of choice, leveraging modular platforms, and ramping up EV and hybrid options across major markets. Key strategic pillars include:
Freedom of Powertrain Choice: Skoda’s success spans internal combustion, hybrid, and all-electric powertrains. This diversified approach strengthens the brand’s resilience during the transition phase.
Next-Level Electrification: With electrified models accounting for nearly a quarter of its European sales, Skoda is accelerating the rollout of new BEV and PHEV models tailored for different customer needs and regulatory environments.
Market Expansion and Localization: The brand is scaling its international EV footprint. In Vietnam, the locally produced Kushaq SUV marks a significant milestone. The use of CKD kits from India enhances supply chain efficiency and cost control.
Strong EU Market Positioning: Skoda has achieved record market shares in key EV-focused countries like Germany, Austria, Sweden, and France, positioning itself as a leading volume EV brand in the region.
AI and Digital Integration: As part of its broader transformation, Skoda is enhancing data management and AI capabilities to streamline operations and optimize customer and production interfaces in EV deployment.
Skoda has reported €15.07 billion in revenue (+10.4 percent), €1.285 billion operating profit (+11.8 percent), and an 8.5 percent return on sales in H1-2025.
The Next Level Efficiency+ programme is driving cost optimization and supporting efficient production scaling of EVs.
Close collaboration within the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Core is enabling economies of scale in EV platform sharing and R&D investments.
Outlook
Skoda aims to cement its position as a top-three automotive brand in Europe and accelerate its transition to a climate-neutral, all-electric future. The success of its Enyaq and Elroq models, along with strong market performance in India and Southeast Asia, demonstrates a well-balanced global EV growth strategy. The second half of 2025 will likely see continued expansion of electrified offerings, increased localized production, and a deeper push into digital transformation.
