Power Sustainable Plans More Than $10 Billion of Canadian Investment
Power Sustainable plans to invest and mobilise more than C$10 billion over five years across Canadian infrastructure and related companies. The investment programme covers infrastructure equity, infrastructure credit, clean energy, industrials and agri-food. Its renewable-energy portfolio through Potentia Renewables includes wind, solar and battery storage, including Skyview 2, which Power Sustainable expects to become Canada’s largest battery-storage project when completed. The firm is also advancing more than 1 GW of late-stage energy projects alongside a wider development pipeline. The C$10 billion-plus target includes Power Sustainable capital, co-investments, debt and third-party financing, with opportunities spanning power, connectivity, waste management, transport, logistics and industrial infrastructure.
Nel Selects Hydrasun to Expand European PEM Electrolyser Manufacturing
Nel ASA has entered a framework agreement with Hydrasun to establish European assembly and integration capacity for its MC Series modular PEM electrolyser platform. Hydrasun will procure, integrate and manufacture balance-of-plant systems around Nel’s electrolyser stacks, creating a fully integrated, containerised hydrogen-production solution for European customers. Nel will continue manufacturing PEM stacks at its Wallingford, Connecticut facility in the United States. The European partnership complements Nel’s existing US integration capabilities and is designed to broaden delivery capacity as industrial customers evaluate green-hydrogen projects. The agreement also allows Nel to concentrate on core electrolyser-stack manufacturing while Hydrasun handles surrounding systems, assembly and integration required for complete commercial installations.
Volvo Plans 70 MW / 260 MWh Battery Energy Park in Sweden
Volvo Group plans to establish an energy park near its intended battery-cell manufacturing site in Mariestad, Sweden, combining large-scale battery storage with a future test platform for energy technologies. The initial development is expected to provide approximately 70 MW / 260 MWh of battery storage, making it one of Sweden’s larger energy parks. Volvo expects the project to strengthen grid resilience and provide flexibility as Sweden integrates more renewable electricity. The company also intends to use the location to test innovative energy solutions connected with its industrial operations and decarbonisation strategy. The energy park represents another step in Volvo’s broader Mariestad expansion and is expected to begin supporting energy activities from 2027.
