SPI Solar of Roseville of California has announced that its subsidiary, Xinyu Xinwei New Energy has signed an EPC agreement for a 20 MW solar PV project in Wulaichabu City of Inner Mongolia, reports SolarServer.
This contract, with Inner Mongolia Jingzhaolai Energy represents SPI Solar’s first agreement for a PV project in the Inner Mongolia region.
The project is expected to begin in October 2014 and the completion and grid connection is expected during 2014.
This agreement marks a new geographic expansion of SPI Solar’s presence in the rapidly growing market for solar across China, said, Xiaofeng Peng, chairman, SPI.
So far, numerous projects have been initiated in different regions of China, underscoring the ability to execute global strategy while also expanding the market presence within China, added Peng.
