Siemens bags 115 MW wind-turbine order from Chile

Greentech Lead America: German industrial conglomerate
Siemens has received its first wind turbine order from Chile, for a total
capacity of 115 MW.

Clients for the El Arrayan wind power project, located
400 kilometers north of Santiago, are the partners Pattern Energy Group,
Ashmore Energy International and Antofagasta Minerals.

The scope of supply encompasses delivery, installation
and commissioning of 50 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.3 MW and a
rotor diameter of 101 meters.

The order includes a five-year service and maintenance
contract.

After the commissioning planned in early 2014, El Arrayán
will be the largest wind farm in Chile and provide clean power for up to
200,000 households.
