Vestas V155-3.3 MW wind turbine

Invenergy has selected Vestas for 134 MW Invenergy onshore wind project at the Inaniwa Wind Energy Center in Japan’s Iwate Prefecture.

The order, marking the company’s largest onshore wind project in the Japanese market, consists of 32 units of Vestas’ V117-4.2 MW wind turbines. The order also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement to optimize performance and ensure long-term reliability.

Purvin Patel is the President of Vestas Asia Pacific.

Invenergy, a leader in clean energy projects worldwide, also sees this partnership as a vital step toward Japan’s renewable energy transition.

Masa Oya, SVP and Head of Japan at Invenergy, said: “We look forward to delivering another clean energy project in Japan that contributes to the country’s clean energy goals and invests in communities.”

Deliveries of the wind turbines are set to begin in early 2027, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2028. Vestas has been active in Japan since 1993, and this latest deal brings its total installed capacity in the country to more than 1,180 MW.
