Gamesa wins 50 MW wind turbine order from ReNew Power

Gamesa, a wind turbine manufacturer, has won a 50 MW project order from ReNew Power, a renewable energy company based in India.

Under the contract, Gamesa will supply 25 units of G114 – 2.0MW T106 turbines which will be set up at Amba, Madhya Pradesh. Gamesa will also handle the infrastructure needed to install and operate the facility.

The order will be commissioned by March 2017.

Commenting on the long-standing association with Gamesa, Sumant Sinha, chairman & CEO, ReNew Power, said, “We have recently crossed 1,000 MW of commissioned wind energy assets and our relationship with Gamesa has played an instrumental role in making this happen.”

Ramesh Kymal, chairman and managing director – Gamesa India, said, “We thank ReNew Power for this repeat order which signifies our strong technological foothold and project management capabilities in the Indian renewable energy industry.”

Kymal added, “Such renewable energy projects strongly imply ReNew’s increasing commitment towards clean energy thus swiftly working towards achieving the Government’s vision of making India a clean energy nation.”
