By Greentech Lead America: Mueller Systems, an innovator
in water meters, metering systems and water management technology, has entered
in to a supply agreement with American Water, the largest publicly traded U.S.
water and wastewater utility company, to supply water
meters and automated meter reading (AMR) systems.
As per the agreement, Mueller Systems will supply its
smart water technology that includes AMR and the Mi.Net- Mueller Infrastructure
Network for Utilities advanced metering
infrastructure (AMI) system to American Water. The agreement could
extend until 2016.
“By combining technology with our expertise in water
infrastructure, we enable utilities to improve operational efficiencies and customer
service, and to better manage the delivery and use of water,” said Hassan
Ali, vice president and general manager of Mueller Systems.
Mueller Systems’ metering products and systems are
designed to be scalable and flexible, allowing utilities to upgrade as needs
and budgets permit.
Mueller Water Products’ broad portfolio of products and
services includes engineered valves, fire hydrants, leak detection and pipe
condition assessment.

California American Water completes water main replacement
project throughout Los Angeles County service district
Recently, California American Water, a
wholly owned subsidiary of American Water, announced the completion of a
$2.8-million dollar water main replacement project throughout its Los
Angeles County service district. The company has upgraded 13,300 feet
of water distribution mains in the cities of Bradbury, Duarte and the
Baldwin Hills area in unincorporated Los Angeles County.
