India’s water & wastewater treatment market to touch 4230M by 2018

Greentech Lead America: The water and wastewater treatment market in India is expected to reach around INR 22,000 Crs (USD 4230 million) by 2018, according to a new report available at ReportsnReports.com.  

Meanwhile global water and wastewater treatment equipment market is set to grow with a CAGR of 7.4 percent till 2018, the report said.

The demand for water and wastewater treatment is growing in Asia Pacific region.  China and India are the biggest consumers of water due to rapid industrialization and population growth. Disinfection, filtration, and desalination are expected to grow with high CAGR in Asia-Pacific.

Australia, China, and India announced high investments in desalination process and are expected to become one of the leading markets by 2018.

In India, the demand for water and wastewater treatment market is expected to grow at around 18 to 20 percent as growing cities overwhelmed by water and sewage drive government contracts. The market is driven by municipal and industrial demand in India just because there is so much need for water Treatment solutions.

Water treatment industry in India is not seeing too much of a slowdown because the government’s priority is to keep water and waste water treatment projects going. Agriculture accounts for around 70 to 75 percent of India’s water consumption, industrial demand is growing at 2 to 3 times the pace of municipal or farm use, the report said.

In the U.S, the demand for water treatment equipment is forecast to grow 5.9 percent per year to $13.0 billion in 2017. Here the disinfection and membrane equipment will be the fastest growing product segments. Also, the resource extraction market will post the most rapid gains, followed by the recovering commercial and residential market.
