Donaldson 2025 Sustainability Report

Donaldson Company has published its Fiscal Year 2025 Sustainability Report, outlining progress under its “Advancing Filtration for a Thriving Future” strategy.

Donaldson Company Sustainability Report 2025 integrates sustainability into core operations, product innovation, and governance, aligned with the company’s purpose of “Advancing Filtration for a Cleaner World” and six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Climate and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Performance

Donaldson achieved more than 20 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions against its FY21 baseline, representing a reduction of over 23,000 metric tons of CO2e. The company continues to pursue a market-based emissions reduction goal targeting 2030.

Donaldson CEO Rich Lewis said: “Our FY25 progress reflects how our teams are embedding sustainability into the way we design products, operate our facilities, and partner with customers — creating solutions that support a cleaner world and stronger business performance.”

Kate Leiby, Director of Sustainability at Donaldson, said: “We completed 154 energy efficiency projects, reducing annual energy use by about 6,200 MWh and avoiding 2,559 mt of CO2e emissions.”

Renewable Energy Expansion

Renewable energy usage increased by more than 80 percent since FY21, accounting for 9 percent of total energy consumption in FY25. A U.S.-based virtual power purchase agreement began generating electricity in early 2026, supporting long-term clean energy procurement.

Donaldson said four new solar arrays at its Mexico facilities now produce approximately 2,900 MWh of renewable electricity each year, avoiding more than 1,100 mt of CO2 e.

Solar production at Donaldson’ Latin America Distribution Center meets 100 percent of the facility’s electricity needs during normal operation. Donaldson has also installed solar panels at its European headquarters in Leuven, Belgium, further expanding our commitment to renewables.

Energy Efficiency Improvements

Donaldson, a global leader in technology-led filtration products and solutions with $3.7 billion in sales revenue in 2025, completed 154 energy efficiency projects in FY25. These initiatives reduced annual energy consumption by approximately 6,200 MWh and avoided 2,559 metric tons of CO2e emissions.

Waste Management Progress

Donaldson achieved 115 metric tons of net progress toward waste reduction goals in FY25. This included a 455 metric ton increase in recycling, partially offset by a 339 metric ton rise in landfill waste.

Operational Safety Performance

Safety performance reached a five-year high. Twenty sites operated for the entire year without a single recordable injury. Both Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Workday Incident Rate (LWIR) reached five-year lows.

Innovation and R&D Investment

The company invested $88 million in research and development to advance filtration technologies. These innovations support hydraulic oil reduction, refillable semiconductor filtration systems, and clean-energy battery venting applications.

Community Investment

Donaldson provided $1.79 million in global community support through the Donaldson Foundation and corporate contributions, strengthening social impact in operating regions.

ESG Ratings and Recognition

As of March 2026, Donaldson holds an MSCI ESG Rating of AA. The company was also recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s Greenest Companies 2026.

Strategic Framework and Governance

The sustainability strategy is guided by Donaldson’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Policy and Framework. The company has established 2030 Sustainability Ambitions aligned with six UN Sustainable Development Goals, reinforcing accountability and long-term environmental and social impact.
