Yingli Energy Development has inked an agreement to supply modules for the Saad 2 PV project in Saudi Arabia.

The deal, involving the provision of 1.25 GW of Panda N-type TOPCon PV modules, marks a pivotal step in advancing the Middle East’s renewable energy agenda, specifically the third round of PV project plans orchestrated by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The Saad 2 PV project, a venture developed by ACWA Power, stands as a significant cornerstone in the region’s renewable energy landscape, boasting an impressive total installed capacity of 1,255 MW. ACWA Power, a prominent renewable energy developer in the Middle East, spearheads this ambitious initiative.

The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities rest with Huadong Engineering Corporation and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction (SEPCOIII), entities operating under the umbrella of the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina).

Yingli Solar, renowned globally for its expertise in PV module supply, will contribute its technology and top-quality products to the Saad 2 PV project. This collaboration signifies a significant milestone for Yingli Solar, ACWA Power, and PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation, following their involvement in the 575 MW Ibri 2 project in Oman.
