Adani Green Energy has announced surpassing the milestone of 10,000 megawatts (MW) of operational portfolio, reinforcing its commitment to delivering clean power to the national grid.
With an operational portfolio of 10,934 MW, Adani Green Energy’s contribution is set to power over 5.8 million homes and significantly mitigate environmental impact by avoiding approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has not just envisioned a greener future but has actualized it, growing from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity.”
The operational portfolio of Adani Green Energy comprises 7,393 MW of solar, 1,401 MW of wind, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity, showcasing a diversified approach towards renewable energy generation.
Looking ahead, Adani Green Energy has set a goal of reaching 45,000 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, underscoring its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
Moreover, the company’s operational portfolio has received certifications for being ‘single-use plastic free,’ maintaining ‘zero waste to landfill,’ and being ‘water positive for plants with more than 200 MW capacity,’ emphasizing its holistic approach towards environmental responsibility.
Adani Green Energy is currently undertaking the development of the world’s largest renewable energy project, boasting a capacity of 30,000 MW. Situated on barren land at Khavda in Kutch, Gujarat, the project spans across 538 sq km, making it five times the size of Paris and nearly equivalent to the area of Mumbai city.
