Waga Energy and Casella Commission 120 GWh Pennsylvania Renewable Gas Plant

Casella Waste Systems and Waga Energy have started commercial operations at a renewable natural gas facility at the McKean Landfill in Mount Jewett, Pennsylvania. Using Waga Energy’s WAGABOX landfill-gas upgrading technology, the plant can process up to 2,000 standard cubic feet per minute and produce as much as 407,000 MMBtu, or around 120 GWh, of RNG annually. The renewable gas is injected directly into the National Fuel Gas network. The project is expected to avoid roughly 31,000 tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions annually. McKean is the third facility developed under the companies’ partnership after two other plants entered service earlier in 2026. Waga financed construction and will own and operate the facilities for 20 years.

Momentum Energy Commissions Danish Solar Park Producing 36 GWh Annually

Momentum Energy Group has commissioned a new utility-scale solar park near Aunslev in Nyborg Municipality, Denmark, following approximately 10 months of construction and testing. The photovoltaic facility occupies around 28 hectares of former agricultural land and is expected to produce approximately 36,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually. That output is equivalent to the electricity consumption of slightly more than 8,000 households and roughly half of Nyborg Municipality’s residents. Momentum Energy developed and constructed the project, while Danish Sun Energy advised on engineering and procurement. The site also incorporates biodiversity measures alongside power generation. Commissioning moves the facility into full commercial operation and adds another sizeable solar asset to Denmark’s expanding renewable-generation fleet.

3 MW Floating Wind Turbine Arrives at TotalEnergies’ Culzean North Sea Platform

A 3 MW floating wind turbine has arrived at the Culzean offshore gas field in the UK Central North Sea, marking an important deployment milestone for the project designed to reduce offshore platform emissions. The floating unit was towed from Wergeland Base in Gulen, Norway, to the Culzean site. The turbine will supply renewable electricity directly to the offshore platform, demonstrating how floating wind technology can decarbonise energy-intensive offshore installations located far from shore. Culzean is operated by TotalEnergies, and the project provides an early commercial-scale application of floating wind outside conventional grid-connected wind farms. The installation is particularly significant because offshore oil and gas platforms typically depend on gas turbines for power, creating an opportunity for floating renewables to reduce fuel use and emissions.
