Taaleri Invests in 192 MW / 420 MWh Estonia Battery, Construction Starts in September
Taaleri Energia’s SolarWind III Fund has invested in the 192 MW/420 MWh Raudsepa BESS, located about 50 km south of Tartu, Estonia. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with full commercial operation targeted for November 2027. SolarWind III, a co-investor and KJK Fund III will jointly own the project. Evecon and Corsica Sole developed the battery, while Smartecon will deliver it on a turnkey basis using LG Energy Solution batteries and Power Electronics inverters. Taaleri says Raudsepa is expected to become the largest BESS in the Nordic and Baltic region. Its SolarWind III fund and co-investment vehicles have commitments totalling €630 million.
Mirova Invests €65 Million in 145 MW / 290 MWh Nordic Battery Portfolio
Mirova has committed €65 million in equity to two battery projects developed by Ingrid Capacity in Finland and Sweden. The assets provide a combined 145 MW of power and 290 MWh of storage, becoming the first investments in Mirova’s newly established Nordic Storage Platform. The platform is designed to develop, construct and operate utility-scale battery assets across Nordic electricity markets. The batteries will participate in grid-support and electricity-market services while helping accommodate increasing wind and solar production. The transaction gives Ingrid Capacity institutional capital for construction while establishing Mirova’s entry into Nordic grid-scale storage. The two-hour systems will strengthen flexibility as Nordic power systems incorporate greater volumes of variable renewable generation.
Nala Renewables Starts Commercial Operation of 99.2 MW Green Breeze Wind Farm in Romania
Nala Renewables has brought the 99.2 MW Green Breeze wind farm in Romania into commercial operation following completion and handover by developer OX2. Located mainly in Cuca municipality in Galati County, the project uses 16 Vestas V162-6.2 MW turbines. Electricity will be supplied to a multinational corporate buyer under a long-term power purchase agreement. Green Breeze is Nala’s largest project to enter commercial operation and the first OX2 development in Romania to reach completion. OX2 has another roughly 300 MW of Romanian wind projects under construction or approaching construction and approximately 1.2 GW of wind, solar and BESS projects at various development stages.
