Sungrow Connects 200 MW / 400 MWh Battery Project to Grid in Just 17 Days

Sungrow has commissioned a 200 MW / 400 MWh battery energy storage project using its PowerTitan 3.0 platform and 600+ Ah stacked battery cells. The project reached grid connection and commercial operation in only 17 days, supported by Sungrow’s digitally integrated manufacturing, logistics, commissioning and O&M system. Its self-developed delivery platform reduced final grid-connection commissioning from more than 10 days to just one hour through pre-installation, pre-commissioning and automated self-checking. During ambient temperatures reaching 40°C, Bionic Thermal Balance 2.0 maintained thermal control within approximately 1°C while cutting operating energy consumption by 10 percent. Sungrow operates energy-storage manufacturing capacity of 100 GWh annually and supplies equipment across more than 100 countries and regions.

PSE&G Launches $5,000 Home Battery Incentive With Up to $25,000 Interest-Free Financing

New Jersey utility PSE&G has launched its GridSmart Battery Program to encourage residential customers to install behind-the-meter battery energy storage. Eligible households can receive a $5,000 incentive toward qualifying battery equipment and installation, plus access to as much as $25,000 in interest-free on-bill repayment for remaining costs. Participating systems will provide household backup power but can also be dispatched during scheduled GridSmart Battery Events, allowing homes to reduce grid consumption during periods of peak electricity demand. The pilot effectively turns residential batteries into distributed grid-flexibility assets while reducing the upfront cost barrier for customers. PSE&G is New Jersey’s largest gas and electric delivery utility and has received the Mid-Atlantic ReliabilityOne Award for 24 consecutive years, providing a sizeable customer base for evaluating distributed battery participation.

Teragen Energy Raises $6 Million to Commercialize Solid Oxide Fuel Cells for Data Centers

Teragen Energy has closed an oversubscribed $6 million pre-Seed financing to move its next-generation solid oxide fuel-cell technology from prototypes toward initial commercial pilot deployments. BEVC and Energy Capital Ventures co-led the round, joined by AP Ventures, AIC Ventures, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and UntroD Capital Asia. CEO Dr. Ruofan Wang co-invented Teragen’s fuel-cell architecture at Berkeley Lab. The modular system targets onsite power for data centers, industrial facilities and utilities, where electricity demand is rising faster than conventional grid infrastructure can be expanded. Teragen says its architecture is designed around improved cost, efficiency, power density and responsiveness, while remaining fuel-flexible and producing near-zero local pollutants. Systems can also be configured with energy storage or carbon capture, widening potential deployment models.

CME Group Plans Wind Power Futures and Options to Hedge Renewable Generation Risk

CME Group plans to launch financially settled Wind Power futures and options during Q4 2026, subject to regulatory review, creating new financial infrastructure for managing variability in wind generation. The contracts will use indices from Vaisala Xweather, which model projected wind-power output at designated geographic locations. Regions were selected based on either significant installed wind capacity or a high share of electricity supplied by wind. Unlike conventional electricity futures that hedge price alone, the new contracts are designed to help generators, utilities, traders and corporate energy buyers manage volume risk caused by fluctuating wind conditions. CME is adding the instruments to an energy portfolio that already includes Henry Hub natural-gas and weather derivatives. The launch reflects growing financial sophistication as wind becomes a larger share of electricity generation.
