Statkraft Given Green Light for Rappenhagen Wind Farm

Statkraft has received approval to construct the 36 MW Rappenhagen wind farm in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project will feature six Nordex turbines, each with a hub height of 164 meters and a rotor diameter of 149 meters. The wind farm is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power around 36,000 households annually, significantly contributing to regional climate goals. Statkraft aims to begin construction in 2025, with commissioning anticipated in 2026. This project is part of Statkraft’s broader German strategy to accelerate the energy transition by expanding its wind and solar portfolio. The company continues to focus on integrating sustainable energy generation with local stakeholder engagement and long-term environmental stewardship.

PGE Completes 7-MW Pokrzywnica Solar Farm in Poland with Climate and Grid Impact

PGE Energia Odnawialna, a renewables unit of Polish utility PGE, has commissioned the 7-MW Pokrzywnica solar farm in Mazowieckie province. Spanning 13 hectares, the site comprises 13,000 solar panels and is expected to generate 7 GWh of electricity annually—enough to power 3,000 households. The clean energy produced will help avoid 6,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The project is part of PGE’s broader strategy to deploy 3 GW of solar capacity by 2030 and drive Poland’s energy transition. Importantly, the facility is connected to a local power substation via medium-voltage infrastructure, strengthening regional grid stability while contributing to national decarbonization goals.

Renova Energia Acquires 149.6 MW of Solar Projects in Brazil to Expand Clean Energy Portfolio

Renova Energia has acquired 149.6 MW of solar projects in Brazil’s northeast region from Canadian Solar. The deal includes six photovoltaic parks located in the states of Ceara and Pernambuco, all with grid connection rights and environmental permits secured. The acquisition aligns with Renova’s strategy to rebuild and expand its renewable energy portfolio after emerging from a judicial recovery process. These projects strengthen the company’s presence in Brazil’s sunny northeast, which is key for solar development. With plans to bring the assets to operation by 2027, the move positions Renova for long-term growth, energy diversification, and participation in Brazil’s energy auctions or corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs).
