Standard Solar Acquires 15.79 MW Solar Portfolio in Washington State from OneEnergy Renewables

US solar developer Standard Solar has acquired two photovoltaic projects totalling 15.79 MWdc in Washington state from OneEnergy Renewables. The transaction, announced October 14, covers the 12.1 MWdc Palouse Junction project in Connell and the 3.96 MWdc Cunningham project in Othello. Both installations are expected to be completed in Q1 2027. Palouse Junction is forecast to generate 22,339 MWh annually, with Franklin Public Utility District purchasing 10 MWac. Cunningham is expected to produce 6,917 MWh annually, with Big Bend Electric Cooperative purchasing 3 MWac. OneEnergy will provide engineering, procurement and construction services. Standard Solar, backed by Brookfield, owns more than 500 MW of US solar assets.

Wartsila Wins 35 MW/70 MWh Battery Storage Contract in Aruba

Finnish technology company Wärtsilä has secured a contract from Water- en Energiebedrijf Aruba (WEB Aruba) to deliver a 35 MW/70 MWh battery energy storage system. Announced October 13, the contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, energy management software and battery maintenance services. The two-hour storage installation will be integrated with Aruba’s existing wind, solar and conventional electricity generation assets. Wärtsilä’s energy management system will provide forecasting, secondary and tertiary control capabilities and power plant dispatch optimisation. Final handover is scheduled for Q2 2028. The project will become Wärtsilä’s largest Caribbean battery installation by power and energy capacity. The company previously supplied equipment for five WEB Aruba power projects totalling 230 MW.

Trina Storage Wins 50 MW/196 MWh Battery Supply Contract for AEJ Nozu Project in Japan

Trina Storage has secured an equipment supply contract for the 50 MW/196 MWh AEJ Nozu battery energy storage project in Oita Prefecture, Japan. Announced October 14, the project will use Trina Storage’s Elementa 2 Pro battery system, incorporating modular lithium-ion storage units rated at approximately 5 MWh each. AEJ Nozu was selected under Japan’s FY2023 Long-Term Decarbonization Auction, which provides a framework for supporting low-carbon electricity infrastructure. Project completion is scheduled for Q3 2028. Trina Storage is also supplying equipment for a separate 160 MWh battery project in Kyushu. The company previously announced cooperation with AMP-lify covering approximately 1 GWh of Japanese battery storage developments.
