Australia Opens A$250 Million Solar Sunshot Funding Round for Manufacturing and Robotics
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has launched the third round of its Solar Sunshot programme, allocating up to A$250 million for advanced solar manufacturing and deployment technologies. The funding will support Australian and international companies establishing or expanding manufacturing operations in Australia. Eligible technologies include solar mounting systems, trackers, robotic installation equipment, automated construction systems and prefabricated components. Expressions of interest open on November 2, 2026. The funding forms part of Australia’s wider A$850 million Solar Sunshot programme. Earlier rounds supported domestic solar manufacturing and robotic installation projects. The latest round targets commercially mature technologies capable of reducing utility-scale solar construction costs and improving manufacturing productivity.
Montenegro Approves First Phase of 88 MW Korita Wind Farm Near Bijelo Polje
Montenegro has issued a construction permit for the first phase of the 88 MW Korita wind farm near Bijelo Polje in the country’s northern region. The approval was granted to project company Vjetro Park Korita DOO, headquartered in Podgorica. The authorised phase includes 11 wind turbines with hub heights of approximately 110 metres and rotor diameters of 171 metres. Supporting infrastructure includes a 35/400 kV substation, internal access roads, electricity cables and telecommunications connections. The permit covers development across 17 cadastral parcels. Under the approval conditions, construction must begin within two years, while the authorised development must be completed within five years. Project investment value and turbine supplier details were not disclosed.
Morocco Launches 350 MW Noor PV Multisites Solar Tender
The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen) has launched prequalification for the Noor PV Multisites programme, covering solar photovoltaic plants with combined capacity of at least 350 MW. The projects will be developed across several regions of Morocco under an engineering, procurement and construction procurement framework. Selected contractors will be responsible for plant design, equipment supply, construction, operation and maintenance. Companies seeking qualification must demonstrate relevant technical and operational capabilities. The deadline for prequalification applications is November 30, 2026, at 12:00 Moroccan time. The programme will add utility-scale photovoltaic generation across multiple sites rather than concentrate capacity at one location. Investment value, individual project capacities and construction schedules have not yet been announced.
