RWE Installs Half of 44 Turbines at 660 MW Nordseecluster A Offshore Wind Project
RWE has installed 22 of the 44 turbines planned for the 660 MW Nordseecluster A offshore wind project in the German North Sea, reaching the halfway point in turbine installation. The project uses Vestas V236-15.0 MW turbines, each rated at 15 MW, and forms the first stage of RWE’s broader Nordseecluster offshore development. Nordseecluster A is scheduled to enter commercial operation in 2027. A second phase, Nordseecluster B, will add a further 900 MW, taking the combined development to around 1.6 GW. The two-stage project is a major component of RWE’s German offshore wind expansion and will share infrastructure to improve construction and operating efficiency.
University at Buffalo Deploys 8 Electric Buses and 10 Chargers, Targeting Zero-Emission Fleet by 2030
The University at Buffalo has placed eight new 40-foot battery-electric buses into service through partnerships with transportation operator WeDriveU and fleet-electrification specialist Zenobe, beginning the transition of its Stampede transit fleet away from diesel. The system carries about 16,000 passengers daily. Supporting infrastructure includes 10 EV chargers installed at WeDriveU’s Buffalo service centre. The first-phase electrification is expected to avoid 5,984 metric tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions, cutting greenhouse-gas emissions by 55.6 percent compared with diesel service, equivalent to removing roughly 1,395 cars from roads. Diesel buses will be progressively replaced during the next four years, supporting the university’s target for a zero-emission campus by 2030, ahead of New York’s 2045 state-operated heavy-duty vehicle deadline. Zenobe currently supports more than 3,400 electric vehicles across 122 depots globally and has over 3.3 GWh of battery storage operating or under construction in Britain.
