Island Green Power has secured consent for the 500 MW Abbotshaugh Energy Storage project near New Deer in Scotland, clearing a major development hurdle for one of the country’s larger proposed battery facilities. The project is designed to provide flexible electricity capacity as Scotland adds increasing volumes of offshore and onshore wind generation.
