R.Power Completes Construction of 55 MWp Lazuri Solar Project in Romania

Polish renewable-energy producer R.Power has completed construction of its 55 MWp Lazuri photovoltaic project in Satu Mare County, northwestern Romania. Announced October 16, the installation comprises 88,708 solar modules and six medium-voltage stations. Annual electricity production is estimated at approximately 70 GWh, equivalent to consumption by more than 44,000 households. Grid energisation is scheduled before the end of 2026. Lazuri has secured a 15-year Contract for Difference from Romanian authorities. The project forms part of a four-project, 75 MWp portfolio supported by a €44 million financing facility arranged with ING Bank and UniCredit. R.Power’s Romanian development pipeline totals approximately 1.5 GW.

Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust Agrees £34.6 Million Acquisition of 55 MWp UK Solar Farm

Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust has signed a conditional agreement to acquire the 55 MWp Barnsdale Solar Park in West Yorkshire from OnPath Energy. The transaction, announced October 14, has a total acquisition value of approximately £34.6 million, including remaining construction expenditure. Barnsdale is located between Kippax and Allerton Bywater near Leeds and is being constructed by Goldbeck Solar. The project is expected to generate enough electricity for approximately 19,000 households annually. It has secured a government-backed, inflation-linked Contract for Difference extending to 2041. Completion of the acquisition depends on construction and contractual conditions, with the relevant milestone expected in March 2027.

energyRe Closes $815 Million Financing for 360 MW Solar Portfolio in South Carolina

US renewable-energy developer energyRe has closed an $815 million financing package for five utility-scale solar projects in South Carolina with combined generation capacity of approximately 360 MW. Announced October 12, the financing was supported by Bank of America, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Santander. Bank of America served as documentation agent, while Santander advised energyRe. The projects are backed by 25-year power purchase agreements. The financing supports energyRe’s plan to invest $2 billion in South Carolina by 2030. The developer has started construction on approximately 450 MW of projects over the past year. Its wider portfolio exceeds 1.8 GW across 20 projects in four US states.
