R.Power Advances 100 MW/200 MWh Studina Battery Storage Project in Romania

Polish renewable-energy developer R.Power has announced development progress on its 100 MW/200 MWh Studina battery energy storage project in Olt County, Romania. Disclosed October 14, the standalone facility will become R.Power’s second large-scale battery installation in the country. The company has appointed a contractor for balance-of-plant construction and high-voltage grid connection works. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q4 2026, with grid connection expected by Q3 2027. Studina follows R.Power’s 127 MW/254 MWh Scornicești battery project, which is approaching completion. Across Central and Eastern Europe, R.Power reports approximately 900 MW/3 GWh of storage assets in operation or construction, plus 700 MW/2.8 GWh of commercialised, ready-to-build projects.

Galileo Secures Grid Access for 135 MW Renewable Projects in Spain, Expanding Connected Pipeline to 825 MW

Swiss renewable-energy developer Galileo Green Energy has secured formal grid access and connection permits for an additional 135 MW of renewable-energy projects in Spain. Announced October 14, the milestone increases the company’s grid-secured Spanish portfolio to 825 MW. The portfolio comprises 500 MW of battery storage, 200 MW of onshore wind and 125 MW of hybrid solar capacity. Galileo also obtained environmental impact assessment approval for another 75 MW of battery projects, increasing environmentally approved storage capacity to 215 MW. Its wider Spanish development pipeline totals approximately 1.4 GW, with another 1.4 GW of potential projects identified for future capacity tenders. The company did not disclose construction investment amounts or commissioning schedules.

ScottishPower Completes 1.8 Kilometre Cable Landfall Works at £4 Billion East Anglia TWO Wind Farm

ScottishPower Renewables has completed a major subsea engineering operation at its 960 MW East Anglia TWO offshore wind project in the United Kingdom. Announced October 15, the milestone involved installing two continuous polyethylene cable ducts beneath the Suffolk coastline. Each duct measures approximately 1,793 metres long and 800 millimetres in diameter. The ducts were manufactured by Pipelife in Norway and installed using horizontal directional drilling by contractors led by OCU Group. East Anglia TWO represents an investment of approximately £4 billion and will comprise 64 Siemens Gamesa offshore turbines. Export cable installation is expected during summer 2027, with commercial operation targeted for late 2028.
