NeoVolta Secures $20 Million Loan to Expand US Battery Manufacturing

US energy-storage company NeoVolta has secured a $20 million loan to support expansion of its battery manufacturing operations. The financing arrives as demand for stationary energy storage rises across residential, commercial and utility applications in the US. NeoVolta’s expansion reflects a broader effort to increase domestic battery-system production as federal and state policies encourage local manufacturing and more resilient energy supply chains. Storage demand is also being supported by rapidly growing solar installations and requirements for backup electricity and grid flexibility. Access to manufacturing capital is particularly important because battery companies must finance equipment, facilities, inventories and supply chains before achieving higher production volumes. The $20 million facility should give NeoVolta additional capacity to scale production and address growing demand for US-manufactured storage systems.

Spain Plans 937 MW Grid Capacity Tender in Coal Transition Region

Spain is preparing a tender covering 937 MW of electricity-grid connection capacity in an area affected by coal-fired power generation closures. The programme is designed to redirect grid infrastructure previously associated with conventional generation toward new energy projects and economic activity. Access to grid capacity has become one of the biggest constraints facing renewable developers in Europe, making connection rights increasingly valuable. Spain has rapidly expanded solar and wind generation, but congestion and limited connection availability can delay otherwise viable projects. The 937 MW tender could therefore unlock a significant pipeline of renewable generation, storage or other electricity-intensive developments while supporting employment and investment in communities affected by the coal phase-out. Max Bögl and Vestas Install 199-Metre-Hub Wind Turbine in Germany

German tower manufacturer Max Bögl Wind and turbine supplier Vestas have completed what they describe as the world’s tallest serially produced onshore wind turbine, featuring a 199-metre hub height. The installation uses Vestas technology combined with Max Bögl’s hybrid tower system to reach stronger and more consistent winds at higher elevations. Taller turbines can improve electricity generation at sites where wind resources closer to ground level are less attractive, potentially opening additional locations for commercially viable projects. The development is significant as European wind developers seek higher output from individual turbines while facing increasingly constrained land availability. Higher hub heights, larger rotors and increased turbine ratings are becoming important elements of onshore wind economics, helping developers increase annual generation without proportionally expanding project footprints.
