Jupiter Wagons Wins 41 MW / 102.5 MWh Uttarakhand BESS Project
Jupiter Wagons, through energy business JEM Energy, has won a 41 MW/102.5 MWh standalone battery energy storage project from Uttarakhand Power Corporation in partnership with Madhav Infra Projects. The consortium emerged as the lowest bidder for Cluster C under tariff-based competitive bidding. Jupiter’s supply and commissioning scope is valued at approximately ₹100 crore. JEM Energy has separately received the formal award for a 50 MW/200 MWh BESS at the Jeerat 132 kV substation in West Bengal from WBSEDCL. Together, the projects give the company 91 MW/302.5 MWh of awarded storage capacity as it targets a BESS order book of around ₹1,000 crore during FY2027. Free Press Journal
UltraTech Commissions 116.55 MW Wind Project as Green Capacity Tops 2 GW
UltraTech Cement has commissioned 116.55 MW of wind capacity at its ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid project in Barmer, Rajasthan, taking its captive green-energy capacity above 2 GW. The company simultaneously commissioned 10 MW of waste-heat-recovery capacity at Sarlanagar Cement Works in Karnataka. UltraTech now operates 2,024 MW of green capacity, comprising 1,580 MW of renewable generation and 444 MW of waste-heat recovery. These resources supply approximately 48 percent of its current electricity requirements. UltraTech aims to increase green energy’s share of its electricity consumption to 85 percent by 2030, while progressively adding battery storage to improve renewable-energy utilisation and reliability across manufacturing sites. ACME Solar Adds 66.68 MW at 300 MW Rajasthan Hybrid Project
ACME Solar Holdings subsidiary ACME Renewtech has commissioned another 66.68 MW of solar capacity at its Bikaner hybrid renewable-energy project in Rajasthan. The latest tranche increases commissioned solar capacity at the development to 133.36 MW out of the planned 300 MW. Commercial operation of the new capacity is scheduled from October 7, 2026. Electricity from the hybrid development is contracted to NTPC under a long-term power purchase agreement. The latest solar commissioning is separate from ACME’s recently commissioned Rajasthan battery-storage blocks and represents a material new generation milestone as the company progressively brings the larger hybrid project into operation. ERG Signs Five-Year Glencore PPA for 82 MW Polish Wind Portfolio
ERG has signed a five-year power purchase agreement with Glencore Energy Europe covering electricity generated by three operating Polish wind farms with 82 MW of combined capacity. The portfolio comprises the 42 MW Radziejow, 26 MW Slupia and 14 MW Szydlowo projects. The agreement begins on January 1, 2027 and covers approximately 164 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to around 820 GWh over the five-year contract period. ERG estimates the contracted volume represents roughly 70 percent of expected portfolio generation. The PPA gives the operating wind assets greater revenue visibility while providing Glencore with a sizeable contracted supply of renewable electricity from Poland.
