Finnfund and Proparco Commit $33 Million to ERCO’s Colombia Solar and Battery Expansion
Finnfund and Proparco have committed $33 million to Colombian clean-energy platform ERCO as part of a larger equity financing led by Augment Infrastructure Managers. The investment, supported by an EU guarantee, will finance construction and expansion of solar generation and battery-storage assets across Colombia. Founded in 2012, ERCO has already delivered more than 2,000 solar projects and operates across development, engineering, construction, electricity generation and digital energy retail. The company is targeting approximately 1 GWp of additional solar generation by 2030 while expanding battery storage. The financing gives ERCO new equity for project construction, local financing leverage and capital recycling as Colombia diversifies an electricity system that remains heavily dependent on hydropower.
ACEN Completes Initial Stake Sale in 250 MW Rajasthan Solar Project
ACEN has completed the first stage of a transaction bringing Diamond India Renewables One into its 250 MW Tejorupa solar project in Rajasthan, India. The September 23 closing gives the investor an initial 10 percent voting interest in Tejorupa Renewables India Project, following ACEN’s earlier plan to divest as much as 49 percent of the project company. Tejorupa is developing a 250 MW AC photovoltaic facility and forms part of ACEN’s sizeable Indian renewable portfolio. India accounted for around 20 percent of ACEN’s attributable renewable capacity as of June 2026. The completed stake transfer provides a fresh capital-partner milestone as ACEN selectively recycles equity from Indian projects under construction.
NTPC Re-Tenders 400 MWh Battery Storage Project at Mouda Power Station
NTPC has re-issued its tender for a 400 MWh battery energy storage system at the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station in Maharashtra after terminating the project’s earlier contract. The previous award to GR Infraprojects was valued at approximately $43.2 million. The new engineering, procurement and construction package covers the complete battery system and integration with the existing power station, with bids due by October 22, 2026. The re-tender is a material new procurement milestone because the earlier contracting route has been cancelled and competition reopened. The project would add substantial storage capacity at an existing NTPC generation site, supporting greater operational flexibility and integration of renewable electricity into India’s expanding power system.
