European Energy Opens 25 MW/65 MWh Battery at Lithuanian Solar Park

European Energy has opened its 25 MW/65 MWh battery energy storage facility at the Anykščiai renewable-energy park in Lithuania. The battery is installed alongside an existing 78.5 MW solar farm, creating a hybrid generation and storage facility. The installation was connected to Lithuania’s electricity transmission network during spring 2026 and is European Energy’s first battery project in the Baltic states. The combined site occupies approximately 120 hectares and is expected to generate around 80 GWh of renewable electricity annually. European Energy operates more than 400 MW of renewable capacity in Lithuania and has approximately 800 MW under development. A further 12 MW/50 MWh battery project is under construction in Telšiai.

Enlight Acquires 100 MW/400 MWh Ready-to-Build Battery Project in Finland

Enlight Renewable Energy has completed the acquisition of a 100 MW/400 MWh battery energy storage project in Pyhäjoki, Finland, from local developer Usva Energia. The project reached ready-to-build status in July 2026 after completing land acquisition, permitting, grid connection preparation and technical design. It is planned to connect to Elenia’s 110 kV distribution network. The transaction represents Usva Energia’s third ready-to-build battery project sale during 2026, following an earlier transaction involving a 100 MW project in Teuva. Enlight develops and operates renewable-energy assets across the United States, Israel and Europe. The acquired facility will expand its Finnish storage portfolio as the company progresses construction planning and equipment procurement. Financial consideration was not disclosed.

Centrica Signs Battery Tolling Agreement for 125 MW/300 MWh AKKU One Project in Finland

Centrica, through Centrica Energy, has signed a partial tolling agreement with Delta Capacity and Covenergo for the 125 MW/300 MWh AKKU One battery storage project in Lapinlahti, Finland. Centrica will optimise and trade the battery across Nordic wholesale electricity, balancing and ancillary-services markets. The agreement provides a contracted revenue component while allowing the project owners to retain exposure to additional market earnings. Covenergo is the majority owner, while Delta Capacity is an investor and construction and management partner. Sungrow will provide battery technology under an existing 1 GWh supply framework. Commissioning is scheduled for Q4 2027. Centrica’s battery optimisation partnership with Delta Capacity now covers more than 400 MW across Nordic projects.
