CQP Advances 450 MW Solar and 3.6 GWh Battery Project in Queensland
Central Queensland Power has advanced the permitting process for the 450 MW Wooderson Solar Farm near Gladstone, Australia, keeping one of Queensland’s larger planned solar-plus-storage projects moving toward development. The scheme is located about 40 km southwest of Gladstone and 20 km west of Calliope and is planned with approximately 980,000 solar panels. Importantly, CQP also intends to co-locate a 450 MW/3,600 MWh battery energy-storage system, providing up to eight hours of storage. CQP is a venture involving renewable-energy developers focused on Central Queensland and has more than 4 GW of wind, solar and battery projects under development. The project also includes a new substation, internal electrical infrastructure and grid connection.
Eurowind Completes Acquisition of EnBW’s 120 MW Swedish Wind Platform
Eurowind Energy has completed its acquisition of EnBW’s Swedish renewable-energy platform, gaining approximately 120 MW of operating onshore wind capacity, a substantial development pipeline and an established operations-and-maintenance business. The transaction was originally announced on July 13, 2026 and required approval under Sweden’s foreign-direct-investment screening regime before closing. The acquired activities are now being integrated into Eurowind Energy’s Swedish business. The deal also expands Connected Wind Services, which Eurowind previously acquired from EnBW in Denmark, into the Swedish market. Financial terms were not disclosed. The combination gives Eurowind immediate operating renewable generation while adding future wind and potentially other clean-energy development opportunities, strengthening the Danish developer’s long-term Nordic expansion strategy.
Eolus Sells US Solar-Battery Project for Up to $6.5 Million Swedish renewable-energy developer Eolus has agreed to sell all rights to a mid-stage US solar and battery-storage project for total proceeds of up to $6.5 million. An unidentified US renewable-energy developer and operator is acquiring the project. Eolus has already received $2 million, while a further $4.5 million is contingent on future project milestones. The upfront payment will positively affect Eolus’ Q3 2026 EBIT and cash flow. Although the project’s solar and battery capacity has not been disclosed, the transaction illustrates Eolus’ development-and-divestment business model, in which projects are advanced through early and mid-stage development before transfer to long-term owners or operators. Eolus continues to develop wind, solar and storage assets across the US and Europe.
