Clearway Secures $1.5 Billion Financing and Starts Construction of 650 MW Missouri Solar Project

Clearway Energy Group has secured financing and started construction of the 650 MW Swan Energy Center in Bates County, Missouri, representing a $1.5 billion investment. The project is located on former strip-mining land and is supported by a 20-year power purchase agreement. Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, DNB Bank and National Australia Bank lead the financing consortium. Blattner Energy is responsible for construction, which is expected to create up to 500 jobs. The facility is scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2028 and generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 200,000 homes. Clearway has also committed more than $80 million in local payments over 30 years.

Sonnedix Acquires 54 MW Italian Solar Portfolio from EOS Investment Management

Sonnedix has acquired two operational solar power plants in Italy with approximately 54 MWp of combined capacity from EOS ReNewable Infrastructure Fund II, managed by EOS Investment Management. The portfolio comprises a 46.5 MWp solar plant in Sardinia’s Macchiareddu industrial district and a 7.4 MWp facility in Lazio. Both projects entered commercial operation in 2025 after EOS completed development, permitting and construction. Together, they generate approximately 90 GWh annually, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 33,000 households. The Sardinian facility benefits partly from a 20-year incentive tariff. The transaction follows Sonnedix’s acquisition of another 194 MWp Italian solar portfolio from EOS earlier in 2026. Financial consideration was not disclosed.

LGI Agrees A$22 Million Acquisition of 42 MW Queensland Solar Portfolio

Australian renewable-energy company LGI has entered a binding agreement to acquire the Brigalow and Chinchilla solar farms in Queensland for A$22 million, without assuming associated debt. The projects provide 42 MW of grid-export capacity and approximately 54 MW of installed solar capacity. Brigalow contributes 27.3 MW of export capacity, while Chinchilla provides 14.7 MW. LGI is acquiring the project companies from IIG Solar Assets and expects completion on October 9, 2026. The acquisition will be financed using available cash and existing debt facilities. LGI estimates the assets could contribute A$2.1 million–A$4 million in annual EBITDA, depending on operating improvements and integration of its energy-management technology.
