The latest renewable energy news include announcements on Boskalis, Blueleaf Energy, Juniper Green, Zeevonk Offshore Wind, and others.
Boskalis Wins €50–150 Million Cable Contract for 1 GW Zeevonk Offshore Wind Phase
Boskalis has secured a contract from the Vattenfall-Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners Zeevonk joint venture to install the inter-array cable system for Phase 1 of the Zeevonk offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea. Boskalis classifies the contract as “sizeable,” indicating a value of approximately €50 million to €150 million. Its scope covers transportation and installation of around 149 km of 66 kV cables connecting 69 turbines, plus testing, termination, protection systems, surveys and seabed work. Engineering will begin shortly, with offshore installation scheduled for 2029. Zeevonk Phase 1 will provide approximately 1 GW, while the complete project is planned to reach 2 GW.
Blueleaf Energy Acquires Operating 40 MW Wind Farm in Karnataka
Blueleaf Energy has acquired an operational 40 MW wind farm in Karnataka, adding an established generating asset to its Indian renewable-energy portfolio. The wind project has approximately eight years of operating history, providing the buyer with an asset that already has a demonstrated generation record rather than early-stage development risk. The acquisition strengthens Blueleaf Energy’s position in India’s wind market as investors increasingly combine greenfield development with purchases of operational renewable infrastructure. Karnataka remains one of India’s principal wind-generation states and provides access to a mature renewable-energy ecosystem and grid infrastructure. Financial terms, the seller and turbine configuration were not disclosed. The acquisition adds immediately operational renewable capacity to Blueleaf’s Asian clean-energy platform.
Juniper Green Commissions 15.5 MW of Wind Capacity at 200 MW Project
Juniper Green Energy has commissioned another 15.5 MW of wind capacity through subsidiary Juniper Green Stellar, advancing development of its 200 MW wind project. The October 1 addition increases Juniper Green Energy’s total operational renewable capacity to approximately 2,740 MWp. The company also has around 603 MWh of operational battery energy storage across its portfolio following recent storage commissioning. The latest wind addition follows Juniper’s strategy of progressively bringing utility-scale renewable projects online rather than waiting for complete project capacity to be commissioned simultaneously. Juniper is developing a broader portfolio spanning solar, wind, hybrid renewable generation and battery storage as Indian electricity procurement increasingly moves toward firm and dispatchable renewable-power products.
