Nordex Wins 175 MW Wind Turbine Orders Across France, Portugal and Spain
Nordex has secured new European orders totalling 175 MW across France, Portugal and Spain. The contracts cover the supply and installation of 34 turbines plus multi-year service agreements. The orders comprise eight N175/6.X machines, four N163/6.X turbines, four N149/4.X units, nine N133/4.8 turbines and nine N131/3.6 machines, reflecting differing wind conditions and permitting requirements across the three markets. Customers and project names were not disclosed. Nordex expects installation and commissioning of the projects during 2027 and 2028. The orders expand the manufacturer’s European backlog across multiple turbine platforms rather than concentrating delivery around a single turbine model or national wind market.
Statkraft and Greenvolt Sign 10-Year Deal for 400 MW / 1.6 GWh Polish Batteries
Statkraft and Greenvolt have signed a 10-year tolling agreement covering 400 MW/1.6 GWh of battery storage in Poland. The contract covers the Ełk and Turosn Koscielna batteries, each rated at 200 MW/800 MWh. Statkraft will control charging and discharging decisions across electricity and flexibility markets, while Greenvolt receives a contracted revenue stream alongside Polish capacity-market income. The projects previously secured a €218 million UniCredit financing package, comprising €153 million of bridge facilities and €65 million of guarantees. Turosn Koscielna was inaugurated in July, while Ełk is expected to reach commercial operation during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Octopus Invests in 43 MW of Operating Irish Solar Farms
Octopus Energy Generation has invested in three operating solar farms in Ireland with a combined capacity of 43 MW, expanding its Irish renewable portfolio beyond 300 MW. Two projects are located in County Kildare and the third in County Cork, with combined generation equivalent to annual electricity demand from approximately 10,000 Irish homes. One Kildare solar farm was developed on a former golf course. The investment was made through Octopus Energy Generation’s Sky fund, ORI SCSp, which is backed by the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund. Following the transaction, Octopus has nine renewable projects operating or under construction in Ireland, collectively capable of supplying more than 82,000 homes annually.
