The latest news on renewable energy projects includes announcements on Albioma, Bondada Engineering, DTE Energy, Cold Creek Solar Park for Ford in Michigan, and others.

Albioma Acquires 43% of $650 Million, 70 MW Georgia Biomass Project

Albioma has acquired a 43 percent economic interest in Altamaha Green Energy, which is developing a 70 MW biomass cogeneration facility in Jesup, Georgia, US. The approximately $650 million project is already well advanced in construction and has secured a $477 million project-finance facility arranged by Mizuho, Santander and La Caisse. The facility will sell renewable electricity to Georgia Power under a long-term PPA and supply process steam to Rayonier Advanced Materials’ industrial site. Beasley Group will provide sustainably certified forestry residues used as fuel. Commercial commissioning is scheduled for 2029. Albioma will fund its equity contribution from its own financial resources.

Bondada Engineering Wins ₹1,154 Crore EPC Order for 270 MWp Maharashtra Solar Project

Bondada Engineering has secured a ₹1,153.93 crore EPC contract to develop 270 MWp of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic capacity across multiple locations in Maharashtra. The company expects to execute the complete project within six months of receiving the order, creating a sizeable near-term solar construction programme. The contract expands Bondada’s renewable-energy EPC portfolio as the engineering company builds capabilities spanning large-scale solar generation and battery energy storage. The 270 MWp EPC award is separate from the recently reported ₹911.25 crore financing secured by Bondada subsidiary Onix IPP for its 225 MW Maharashtra solar independent power project, making this a distinct new project and contract rather than a repeat of that financing milestone.

DTE Energy Completes 100 MW Cold Creek Solar Park for Ford in Michigan

DTE Energy has completed construction of the 100 MW Cold Creek Solar Park near Coldwater, Michigan, with the project supporting Ford Motor Company’s renewable-electricity requirements. Development was funded through Ford’s participation in DTE’s MIGreenPower programme. Ford has committed to purchase up to 650 MW of renewable electricity through the programme, which enables commercial and residential customers to match their electricity consumption with renewable generation produced in Michigan. DTE expects Ford vehicles manufactured in Michigan to be assembled using the equivalent of 100 percent carbon-free electricity by the end of 2027. Cold Creek therefore represents a new 100 MW operational solar addition tied directly to industrial electricity demand.
