R.Power Completes Battery Deployment at 150 MW/300 MWh Jedwabno Project in Poland

Polish renewable-energy developer R.Power has completed deployment of all battery units at its 150 MW/300 MWh Jedwabno Battery Energy Storage System in northeastern Poland. The installation now contains 64 battery containers and 32 medium-voltage transformer stations. Construction partners Nomad Electric and ESIX are progressing electrical integration and grid connection, with commissioning targeted for December 2026. The project has secured a 17-year capacity market contract, while Axpo will provide optimisation services until the end of 2037. Financing includes approximately PLN 270 million arranged with Siemens Financial Services and Erste Group Bank. R.Power’s wider battery portfolio includes approximately 900 MW/3,000 MWh of operating and under-construction projects across Central and Eastern Europe.

TagEnergy Seeks Federal Approval for 1 GW/4 GWh Morwell Battery Project in Australia

TagEnergy has submitted its proposed 1,000 MW/4,000 MWh Morwell Battery Energy Storage System in Victoria, Australia, for federal environmental assessment. The standalone battery will occupy approximately 60.4 hectares near the former Morwell thermal power station in Latrobe Valley. The proposed installation includes 876 battery containers, 292 inverter blocks and two substations. Development is planned in two equal phases, with connection to the 500 kV Hazelwood terminal station. TagEnergy secured state-level development approval earlier in 2026. The federal environmental review represents the next regulatory milestone, with public comments accepted until October 14. Commissioning is targeted for 2029, subject to remaining approvals and construction decisions.

Return Commissions 100 MW/200 MWh Antares Battery Storage Project in Netherlands

European energy storage developer Return has brought its 100 MW/200 MWh Antares battery energy storage facility into commercial operation at Waddinxveen in the Netherlands. The project connects directly to electricity transmission operator TenneT’s 150 kV network and entered service ahead of schedule. Construction began in April 2025, with Alfen and SPIE Nederland involved in delivery. The facility represents an investment of approximately €85 million, supported by financing from ING, Meewind and Nationaal Groenfonds. Vattenfall has contracted 50 MW of capacity under a long-term agreement. Return is also developing the 200 MW/800 MWh Sirius battery in Winschoten, which is expected to enter commercial operation during the fourth quarter of 2027.
