Today’s renewable energy news includes updates from Nordex, OnPath, KGAL, among others.
Nordex Secures 82MW Wind Turbine Orders in Germany
Nordex Group has received contracts from Westfälisch-Niedersächsische Energie WNE to supply and install 82MW of wind turbines across three wind projects in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The agreement covers twelve N175/6.X turbines with 179-metre hub heights and includes 20-year Premium Service agreements. The turbines will be installed at the Dringenberg, Gehrden Ost and Gehrden Fölsen extension projects in the Höxter district, with construction expected to begin in mid-2027. Dringenberg will feature seven turbines, while Gehrden Ost and Gehrden Fölsen extension will deploy three and two turbines respectively. The deal strengthens the long-standing partnership between Nordex and WNE following earlier turbine orders announced in March 2026. The projects support Germany’s renewable energy expansion and ongoing efforts to accelerate the European energy transition through modern high-capacity wind technology.
OnPath Signs Option Deal for 121MW Scotland Wind Portfolio
OnPath Energy has signed an option agreement with Wilson Forest Products covering three onshore wind projects in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, with a combined capacity of 121MW. The agreement includes the Bankend Rig II, Bankend Rig III and Hawkwood wind farms and could allow OnPath to acquire a majority stake in the projects subject to conditions and development milestones. Together, the developments will comprise 18 turbines capable of generating enough electricity to supply around 150,000 homes annually. Planning consent for Bankend Rig II and III was secured in 2025, while Hawkwood has received council approval subject to legal agreements. The projects are located southwest of the existing Kype Muir Wind Farm. OnPath said the agreement forms part of its wider £1 billion investment strategy aimed at expanding renewable energy infrastructure across southern Scotland over the next five years.
KGAL Sells 16MW Italian Solar Park to Altea
KGAL has sold the 16MW Spalletti solar park in Italy to Altea Green Power through its ESPF 5 fund. The solar project is located near Parma in the Emilia-Romagna region and began commercial operations in early 2024. KGAL acquired the project at ready-to-build stage in 2021 and managed its development through construction and commissioning. The Spalletti solar park was developed on a reclaimed former gravel and sand extraction site and operates under a government-backed feed-in tariff scheme. KGAL said the transaction aligns with its active buy-build-sell investment strategy pursued since 2020. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into additional renewable energy acquisitions within the ESPF 5 portfolio. The deal highlights continued investor demand for operational renewable infrastructure assets across the Italian solar market.
