First Solar photovoltaic (PV) solar modules

Today’s renewable energy news includes updates from Matrix, ENERCON, BLUETTI, among others.

BLUETTI Launches Smart Balcony Solar Ecosystem in Paris

BLUETTI has unveiled its new Balco Series balcony solar solutions in Paris, introducing the Balco 260, Balco 500 and Balco Transfer Hub as part of an integrated smart home energy ecosystem. The launch took place at the Eiffel Tower and targets Europe’s rapidly expanding balcony solar market.  The Balco systems integrate MPPT controllers, micro-inverters, batteries and safety modules into plug-and-play units designed for simplified residential solar adoption. The systems support wireless interconnection, AI-driven energy management and integration with smart home platforms including Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Home Assistant.  BLUETTI said the Balco 500 can deliver up to 11kW output with 15kWh storage for whole-home backup, while the Balco Transfer Hub enables existing portable power stations to connect into grid-compliant balcony solar systems.  The launch highlights continued innovation in distributed residential solar and energy storage as European households increasingly seek energy independence, lower electricity costs and flexible clean energy solutions.

Matrix Connects Two Renewable Projects in Spain

Matrix Renewables has connected the Cruz de los Caminos and Piedra de la Sal renewable energy projects to the Spanish grid, expanding its operational portfolio in Spain to 15 projects with a combined capacity of 691MW. The company said both projects completed all technical and regulatory requirements for grid connection and secured a long-term power purchase agreement with Merck after achieving financial close earlier in 2025. The projects are expected to support Spain’s clean energy transition by delivering reliable renewable electricity while contributing to emissions reduction and energy security. Matrix Renewables added that it is advancing plans to hybridise existing and future renewable projects by integrating battery energy storage systems and wind generation. The company is also developing standalone battery storage projects to strengthen grid flexibility and support evolving energy market requirements across Spain.

ENERCON to Build Rotor Blade Factory in Türkiye

ENERCON will establish a new rotor blade manufacturing facility in Bergama, İzmir Province, Türkiye, to support production of its E-175 EP5 E2 onshore wind turbine model. The company said the plant will create around 700 jobs and will have the capacity to manufacture up to 150 rotor blade sets annually. The facility is expected to primarily serve the Turkish market while also supplying projects across Eastern and Southern Europe. ENERCON added that the investment supports compliance with Türkiye’s local content requirements for participation in government wind energy tenders. The company has already secured supply contracts exceeding 300MW linked to the new turbine platform. The E-175 EP5 E2 turbine features 7MW capacity and a 175-metre rotor diameter, positioning it among Europe’s highest-yielding onshore wind turbines. The project highlights continued investment in localised renewable manufacturing, supply chain development and wind energy expansion in Türkiye.
