Renewable energy news: Leapting’s Solar, Waldevar, Canadian Solar

First Solar photovoltaic (PV) solar modules

Today’s renewable energy news includes announcements on Leapting’s Solar, Waldevar, Canadian Solar, among others.

Leapting’s Solar Cleaning Robots to Be Deployed Across 3 GW of Indian PV Sites

Leapting will deploy its automated solar panel cleaning robots across 3 GW of photovoltaic sites in India, enhancing the performance of large-scale solar assets. The robots use water-efficient, autonomous cleaning technology designed for India’s dusty and arid conditions, improving panel efficiency and reducing soiling losses. Innovation lies in robotics, automation, and data-driven operations that lower manual intervention and operating risk. From an investment perspective, the deployment protects asset value by boosting energy yield and reducing O&M costs. Consumer benefits include more reliable solar generation and improved cost efficiency, supporting affordable clean power. Strategically, the rollout aligns with India’s focus on optimising existing renewable capacity. The deployment supports Leapting’s growth plans, scaling its robotic solutions across one of the world’s largest solar markets.

Waldevar to Build 200-MWp Solar Park for Entek Elektrik in Romania

Waldevar has secured an EPC contract to build a 200-MWp solar photovoltaic park in Romania for Entek Elektrik, supporting the country’s renewable energy expansion. The project will deploy utility-scale PV technology designed for high efficiency and long-term reliability. Innovation is reflected in Waldevar’s integrated EPC capabilities, optimised engineering, and efficient construction methods that shorten delivery timelines. From an investment perspective, the contract enables capital deployment into large-scale solar infrastructure with predictable returns. Consumer benefits include increased access to low-carbon electricity, reduced emissions, and improved energy security. Strategically, the project aligns with Romania’s decarbonisation goals and Waldevar’s focus on regional EPC growth. The deal supports growth plans, expanding Waldevar’s solar EPC portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe.

Canadian Solar Appoints Colin Parkin as President, Strengthens Leadership Team
