Hongli Group and Sidus Energy Explore Advanced Battery Manufacturing Partnership
Hongli Group has entered into a strategic non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sidus Energy Storage to explore collaboration in advanced battery manufacturing and energy storage products. The proposed partnership would combine Hongli’s manufacturing infrastructure and industrial expertise with Sidus Energy’s battery technology and technical capabilities. The companies aim to evaluate opportunities in North American and European energy storage markets, where demand for battery systems continues to rise. The announcement aligns with Hongli’s broader strategy to diversify beyond its traditional steel profile business and expand into high-growth clean energy sectors. The initiative follows the company’s recent focus on solid-state battery technologies and energy storage solutions, reflecting increasing industry investment in next-generation battery manufacturing and grid-scale energy storage opportunities.
Vaja Raises €3.1 Million to Commercialize Next-Generation Solar Tracking Technology
Sweden-based Vaja has secured €3.1 million in seed funding to accelerate commercialization of its next-generation solar tracking technology. The financing round was led by The Footprint Firm, with participation from node.vc, bringing the company’s total capital raised through equity investments and grants to €6 million. Vaja’s innovative vertical single-axis solar tracking system is designed to improve solar energy generation, particularly in northern latitudes where conventional solar installations face performance limitations. The funding will support market entry, technology validation, and commercial deployment efforts. As solar developers seek higher energy yields and improved project economics, advanced tracking technologies are becoming increasingly important for maximizing electricity generation and reducing the levelized cost of solar power across diverse geographic regions.
Sungrow and Sunotec Commission 150 MW / 600 MWh Battery Storage Project in Bulgaria Sungrow and Sunotec have commissioned Enery’s 150 MW / 600 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Nova Zagora, Bulgaria, marking one of the country’s largest energy storage installations. The project will enhance grid flexibility, strengthen power system resilience, and support greater integration of renewable energy resources across Southeast Europe. Developed for independent power producer Enery, the facility utilizes Sungrow’s PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled energy storage technology and is backed by Bulgaria’s RESTORE energy program. The four-hour battery system is considered among the largest operational BESS projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The project forms part of a broader energy storage expansion strategy, with additional battery capacity expected to come online in Bulgaria, supporting regional decarbonization and accelerating the transition toward a more flexible renewable-powered electricity system.
