It supports long-term investment potential, strengthens supply chains for emerging technologies, and positions the company to benefit from expanding global demand for sustainable energy solutions.
Longroad Brings Sun Pond Solar-Storage Project Online in Arizona
US developer Longroad Energy has started commercial operations at its Sun Pond solar-plus-storage facility in Arizona, marking a key milestone for hybrid renewable deployment. The project combines 111MWdc of solar capacity with an 85MW/340MWh battery energy storage system, forming part of the wider Sun Streams complex in Maricopa County. The facility is expected to generate enough electricity to power around 35,000 homes annually, with output secured under long-term power purchase agreements with Ava Community Energy and San José Clean Energy. The integrated battery system enables storage of excess solar power and dispatch during peak demand, improving grid reliability and flexibility. The project is also projected to avoid more than 145,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, highlighting strong environmental benefits. The development underscores growing investment and innovation in hybrid solar-storage solutions, supporting energy security and long-term sustainability.
Hornet Solar Delivers Strong Economic and Energy Impact in Texas
Vesper Energy’s Hornet Solar project, one of the largest utility-scale solar installations in the United States, has been fully operational in Swisher County, Texas for over a year, delivering significant economic and energy benefits. In 2025 alone, the project contributed more than $5 million in local tax revenue, including over $2.6 million to Tulia Independent School District, $1.3 million via the county tax assessor, $600,000 through a PILOT agreement, and $300,000 to the local hospital district. Since April 2025, Hornet Solar has generated over 1.5 million MWh of electricity, enough to power more than 160,000 homes. The project highlights strong investment in domestic renewable infrastructure, delivering reliable, locally generated power while supporting community development, energy security, and long-term economic sustainability.
