European Energy Sells 90 MW Italian Solar Project to CVC DIF

European Energy has agreed to sell its 90 MW Cerano solar project in Puglia, Italy, to CVC DIF, marking another strategic capital rotation transaction in its European renewable energy portfolio. Developed through European Energy’s Italian subsidiary, the utility-scale photovoltaic project is expected to generate enough clean electricity to power around 55,500 households while reducing annual carbon emissions by approximately 66,600 tonnes of CO₂. The divestment enables European Energy to reinvest capital into new renewable energy developments while CVC DIF expands its portfolio of long-term infrastructure assets. The Cerano project supports Italy’s renewable energy targets and strengthens the country’s clean power capacity through large-scale solar generation.

EnBW Reports Lower Renewable Energy Earnings Despite Continued Clean Energy Growth

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG reported a decline in renewable energy earnings for the first half of 2026, as weaker contributions from run-of-river hydropower, the ongoing coal phase-out, and lower generation margins weighed on results. The company’s adjusted EBITDA fell by around 6% to EUR 2.3 billion, while adjusted group net profit declined to EUR 594.7 million. Despite the earnings dip, EnBW added approximately 540 MW of new renewable energy capacity during the period, increasing its installed renewable portfolio to around 8 GW, representing more than 70% of total generation capacity. Chief Financial Officer Thomas Kusterer reaffirmed the company’s plan to invest up to EUR 50 billion by 2030, with continued focus on offshore wind, electricity grids and hydrogen-ready infrastructure, while maintaining its full-year earnings guidance.

Ming Yang Commissions World’s Largest 16 MW Floating Wind Turbine

Ming Yang Smart Energy has commissioned its OceanX floating offshore wind turbine, the world’s largest operational floating wind turbine with a 16 MW generation capacity. The twin-rotor platform features two 8.3 MW turbines mounted on a floating V-shaped structure designed to operate in deep-water environments and withstand Category 5 typhoons with wind speeds of up to 260 km/h and waves exceeding 30 metres. The project demonstrates Ming Yang’s leadership in next-generation floating offshore wind technology, enabling renewable energy deployment in deeper waters beyond the reach of fixed-bottom foundations. The commissioning marks a significant milestone for China’s offshore wind sector and supports the global expansion of large-scale floating wind solutions for future clean energy development.
