Enel Wins Chile’s 1,470-GWh Power Supply Tender

Enel has outperformed six competitors to secure 100% of Chile’s 1,470 GWh long-term electricity supply tender, reinforcing its leadership in Latin America’s renewable power market. The winning bid is backed by Enel’s diversified portfolio of solar, wind, and other renewable generation technologies, ensuring reliable, low-carbon electricity delivery. Innovation is reflected in Enel’s ability to structure competitive, cost-efficient bids that combine multiple renewable sources to meet long-term demand. From an investment perspective, the tender win guarantees stable revenues and supports continued capital deployment into renewable assets. Consumer benefits include access to competitively priced electricity, reduced exposure to fossil fuel price volatility, and lower emissions. Strategically, the result strengthens Enel’s market position in Chile and aligns with national decarbonisation goals. The tender underpins Enel’s growth plans, enabling further renewable expansion and long-term portfolio optimisation in the region.

Copenhagen Energy Sells Stake in Danish BESS Project, Advances Poland Expansion

Copenhagen Energy has sold part of its Danish battery energy storage system (BESS) project, while simultaneously advancing its development activities in Poland, highlighting active portfolio optimisation. The projects leverage advanced battery storage technology to provide grid balancing, flexibility, and renewable integration services. Innovation is reflected in a phased investment and asset-rotation approach that recycles capital into new markets. From an investment perspective, the partial divestment unlocks capital and de-risks the portfolio, supporting reinvestment in growth opportunities. Consumer benefits include improved grid stability and more efficient use of renewable electricity. Strategically, the move aligns with Copenhagen Energy’s focus on scaling flexible energy assets across Northern and Central Europe. The transaction underpins clear growth plans, strengthening the company’s presence in Poland while maintaining momentum in the fast-growing European energy storage sector.

NTPC Green Energy declares operation of Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat

NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has declared the commercial operation of an additional 69.04 MW capacity from the Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Gujarat, effective from 00:00 hours on December 25, 2025. This capacity is the eighth tranche of the larger 1,255 MW Khavda-I project being developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III and executed through its wholly owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy.

With this latest commissioning, NGEL’s total installed renewable capacity has increased to 7,996.30 MW, up from 7,927.26 MW prior to this addition. The development also contributed to positive market response, with NTPC Green’s share price rising following the announcement.

The Khavda area in Kutch, Gujarat, has emerged as a significant hub for solar energy development, with multiple large-scale solar projects underway as part of India’s broader renewable energy expansion efforts.
