Enefit Commissions 45 MW Strzałkowo Solar Farm in Poland
Enefit, part of Estonia’s state-owned Eesti Energia group, has commissioned the 45 MW Strzałkowo solar photovoltaic (PV) farm in Poland, marking another expansion of its renewable energy portfolio in the country. The project is expected to generate approximately 45 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to meet the electricity needs of more than 11,000 households. Enefit invested around EUR 26 million in the development, with 75 percent of the expected generation secured through a 15-year indexed Contract for Difference (CfD). The Strzałkowo project strengthens Enefit’s position in Poland, where the company has been active since 2019 and continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio.
Berliner Stadtwerke to Acquire Half of 70 MW German Solar Park
Berliner Stadtwerke GmbH has agreed to acquire a 50 percent stake in a 70 MW solar park developed by Naturstrom AG in Germany, approximately 75 km from Berlin. The transaction will strengthen the Berlin municipal utility’s renewable generation portfolio and increase the supply of locally sourced clean electricity for the capital. Chris Werner, CEO of Berliner Stadtwerke, is leading the company as it expands its renewable energy investments, alongside Bozena Sommerwerk-Zieminski, its commercial managing director. The acquisition supports Berlin’s wider energy-transition objectives by adding utility-scale photovoltaic generation outside the city while helping diversify the company’s renewable power supply. The partnership with Naturstrom also highlights growing cooperation between municipal utilities and independent renewable energy developers.
ORLEN Acquires 216 MW Hybrid Solar-Wind Project in Poland
ORLEN Group has completed the acquisition of a 216 MW hybrid renewable energy project in Kazimierz Biskupi, Greater Poland, combining a 180 MW solar PV farm with a 36 MW onshore wind farm. The project is expected to generate approximately 315 GWh of electricity annually, enough to meet the needs of nearly 143,000 households. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2026, with first power expected in early 2028 and full commercial operation targeted for Q2 2028. The project was acquired from ONDE and Neo Energy Group, which will remain involved in construction and project management. The hybrid configuration will share a grid connection, improving infrastructure utilisation and supporting ORLEN’s strategy to accelerate renewable energy growth in Poland.
