EDPR Wins Auction for 219MW German Wind Plot

EDP Renewables (EDPR) has secured rights to develop a 219MW wind project in Germany after winning a federal land auction by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA). The awarded plot is located in Schleswig-Holstein, a region in northern Germany known for its strong wind resources. This success strengthens EDPR’s footprint in the German renewable energy market and supports the country’s transition to cleaner energy. The project aligns with EDPR’s strategic expansion across Europe, and details on the project timeline and turbine supplier are expected in due course.

Eolus Sells Latvia’s Largest Wind Project to Latvenergo

Swedish developer Eolus has sold Latvia’s largest wind power project, the 728MW Dobele and Tukums project, to state-owned utility Latvenergo. The deal includes full ownership of the project, which is currently under development and located in the western part of Latvia. Once operational, it is expected to significantly boost the country’s renewable energy capacity. Eolus will continue supporting the project through development services. This transaction marks a major milestone for Latvia’s energy transition and reflects growing regional collaboration in expanding clean energy infrastructure.

Danske Commodities Signs German Wind Power Deal

Danske Commodities has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Luxcara for a 132MW German onshore wind portfolio. The deal covers six wind farms located across Germany and is set to begin in 2026. Under the agreement, Danske Commodities will handle the offtake and trading of the electricity produced, supporting the integration of renewable energy into the market. This PPA marks a significant step in Danske Commodities’ strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and strengthen its role in the European energy transition.

Earthrise Secures $630m for MISO Solar Project

Earthrise Energy has raised $630 million in debt and tax equity financing for its 401MW solar project in Illinois, located within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region. The funding, led by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), NordLB, and other financial partners, will support the development and construction of the large-scale project. Once operational, the facility will deliver clean power to the MISO grid, advancing regional decarbonisation goals. This marks a major milestone for Earthrise as it accelerates its renewable energy investments across the U.S. Midwest.
