Brookfield-Axis JV Secures $600M for Hybrid Project in India

A joint venture between Brookfield Asset Management and Axis Energy has secured around $600 million in financing for a large hybrid renewable energy project in India. Developed under the Evren platform, the project combines wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver reliable, dispatchable clean power.  This initiative highlights innovation in integrated renewable solutions, enabling consistent energy supply despite variability in generation. The customer-focused approach ensures stable and flexible electricity delivery for utilities and industrial users through long-term agreements. Backed by a consortium of global lenders, the project reflects strong international investment confidence in India’s clean energy sector. It also supports grid reliability, large-scale renewable deployment, and long-term sustainability goals in one of the world’s fastest-growing energy markets.

LACI Launches City Climate Innovation Challenge Expansion

Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator has launched the second City Climate Innovation Challenge with 16 US cities, including Baltimore, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, New York City and Los Angeles, representing nearly one in five Americans. The programme focuses on accelerating electric vehicle charging innovation, improving accessibility, affordability, and reliability across urban communities.  The initiative highlights innovation through technology, policy, and business model “sandboxes” to pilot scalable solutions. Cities will collaborate with industry partners to deploy real-world projects and share best practices.  This customer-focused effort ensures equitable access to clean transportation while reducing emissions. Backed by major funding partners, the programme reflects strong investment in sustainable urban infrastructure and supports long-term climate and energy transition goals.

Solar Trailer Fleet Launched for Film Industry

Universal Production Services and Hollywood Trucks have partnered to launch the world’s first solar-powered, off-grid trailer fleet designed for film and television productions. The Ecoluxe trailers operate without diesel generators, delivering clean, autonomous power for basecamp operations including HVAC, Wi-Fi, and electric vehicle charging.  This innovation highlights a shift toward mobile, solar-plus-storage systems that combine renewable generation with battery backup to create reliable off-grid energy solutions. Such systems capture solar energy, store it in batteries, and supply power on demand, reducing emissions and fuel costs. The customer-focused approach improves operational flexibility, allowing productions to deploy instantly without setup delays. The initiative reflects growing investment in sustainable infrastructure, supporting cleaner, more efficient energy use in the entertainment industry.
