Swedish Developer Secures Permit for Brattön-Sälelund Wind Project

A Swedish renewable energy developer has secured a key environmental permit for the Bratton-Salelund wind project, marking another important milestone in Sweden’s expanding clean energy sector. The approval supports the country’s long-term renewable energy and decarbonisation goals while strengthening onshore wind development in the Nordic region. The project reflects continued investment in sustainable energy infrastructure and highlights growing innovation in wind power generation, environmental planning, and grid integration technologies. The permit enables the developer to move forward with project preparation, supporting future renewable electricity production and regional energy security.  Sweden continues to accelerate renewable energy expansion through supportive regulatory frameworks and increased demand for low-carbon electricity. The customer-focused wind project is expected to contribute to cleaner power generation, reduced carbon emissions, and improved long-term electricity reliability while supporting local economic growth and sustainable energy transition objectives.

Hexa Energy Services Begins Construction of 90MW Battery Storage Projects in Japan

Hexa Energy Services has launched the construction of two grid-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 90MW in Japan, strengthening the country’s renewable energy integration and grid stability efforts. The facilities are being developed in Kumamoto Prefecture and Hokkaido, with commissioning targeted for 2027.  The investment highlights growing innovation in Japan’s energy storage sector through advanced grid-balancing technologies and large-scale battery infrastructure. Sungrow will supply the battery systems, while Shirokuma Electric Power will manage EPC operations.  Hexa stated that the projects were selected under Japan’s FY2025 Long-Term Decarbonization Power Source Auction, reinforcing national efforts to improve renewable energy reliability and reduce carbon emissions. The customer-focused initiative will support energy flexibility, grid congestion management, and stable electricity supply while accelerating Japan’s transition toward a sustainable and resilient low-carbon energy infrastructure.

ZOE Energy Storage Forms JV for 18GWh Battery Factory in Saudi Arabia

ZOE Energy Storage has signed a joint venture agreement with a Saudi partner to establish Saudi Arabia’s first large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility with planned capacity of up to 18GWh. The project will be developed in two phases, with the first 6GWh production phase expected to begin operations in Q1 2027.  The investment supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 clean energy strategy and aims to reduce dependence on imported energy storage systems while strengthening regional renewable energy infrastructure. The 150-acre facility will manufacture battery systems compliant with Saudi grid standards and certified under the “Made in Saudi” programme. The project highlights innovation in utility-scale battery storage manufacturing and will serve markets across the Gulf region, Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, and Africa. ZOE also plans to establish a Green Energy Academy at the site to train local talent and enhance technical expertise in energy storage technologies. The customer-focused initiative is designed to improve energy security, accelerate renewable integration, and support sustainable industrial growth across the region.
