Volkswagen Group achieved a significant milestone in 2025 with global deliveries of 983,100 all-electric vehicles (BEVs), marking a 32 percent increase over 744,600 units in 2024. The group’s global BEV share of deliveries rose from 8 percent in 2024 to 11 percent in 2025, highlighting accelerating demand for electric mobility.
Europe remained the strongest market for Volkswagen Group’s BEVs, with deliveries surging 66 percent to 742,800 units. This growth reinforced the group’s market leadership in the region, with an estimated 27 percent share of the European BEV market. Notably, five Volkswagen Group models ranked among the top ten BEVs in Europe.
The rise in BEV popularity is supported by new models such as the Škoda Elroq, Audi A6 e-tron, and Volkswagen “The New Transporter,” alongside a 21 percent increase in the European BEV order book, which now exceeds 200,000 vehicles. BEVs account for approximately 22 percent of the total order book, while total order intake across all drive types grew around 13 percent.
In the United States, Volkswagen Group delivered 72,000 BEVs in 2025, a 46 percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, deliveries in China declined 44 percent as planned to make way for the launch of new locally developed electric models.
The popularity of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) also grew sharply, with 428,000 units delivered worldwide, up around 58 percent from 2024. Modern second-generation PHEVs, offering pure electric ranges of up to 143 km, saw particularly strong growth in Europe, where deliveries rose 72 percent.
