LG Energy Solution has presented its innovative battery technologies for EV and non-EV applications in InterBattery 2025 from March 5 to 7 at COEX in Seoul, Korea.
LG Energy Solution unveiled its 46-series cylindrical batteries (4680, 4695, and 46120), which provide at least five times the energy and output of existing 2170 batteries, marking a significant breakthrough in cylindrical battery technology.
The company also showcased its collaboration with EV startup Aptera Motors by displaying a solar-powered three-wheeler, powered by LG Energy Solution batteries.
Additionally, LG Energy Solution’s booth was divided into five key zones: Hero Battery Solution, EV Battery Solution, Non-EV Battery Solution, Future Technology, and Sustainability.
The Hero Battery Solution zone featured the new 46-series cylindrical batteries and the Cell Array Structure (CAS), a module and pack solution designed to enhance safety by preventing heat diffusion.
The EV Battery Solution zone introduced the Battery Management Total Solution (BMTS), integrating AI and cloud technology into battery management for optimized performance.
Officially commercialized under the B.around brand, BMTS enhances safety diagnostics, degradation tracking, and lifespan prediction.
LG Energy Solution also highlighted its LFP-based Cell-to-Pack (CTP) solution for cost efficiency and safety, as well as its high-voltage mid-nickel (HV Mid-Ni) pouch cells designed to increase energy density while reducing nickel content.
The company’s Non-EV Battery Solution, Future Technology, and Sustainability zones displayed innovations in Energy Storage System (ESS) batteries, small battery-powered robots, and groundbreaking advancements such as dry electrode processes, bipolar batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and small pouch cells incorporating 100 percent recycled cathodes.
LG Energy Solution won two ‘InterBattery 2025’ awards for its 46-series cylindrical battery cells and CAS solution, along with its B-Lifecare technology. This marks the company’s second consecutive year of distinction, following its 2024 Best Innovator Award for mid-nickel Pure NCM technology and the Best Automation Solution Innovation Award for anode laser etching technology.
By showcasing its advancements in cylindrical battery technology and battery management services, LG Energy Solution reaffirmed its role as an industry pioneer in battery performance, safety, and management solutions.
The company remains committed to driving innovation and shaping the future of the battery market with a highly competitive and forward-thinking product portfolio.
