Freudenberg-NOK keeps pledge with 4 PEV charging stations

Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies is set to install four plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging stations at its headquarters.

The company premises already has two charging stations and the new ones are to be installed under Workplace Charging Challenge Pledge created by the US Department of Energy (DOE).

The additional charging stations, which would allow six vehicles to be charged at a time, will be installed in April.

Although the charging stations are meant for employees of the company under the pledge, Freudenberg-NOK will also make them available to the public.

Ted Duclos, the president of Freudenberg-NOK, said: “Partnering with the DOE aligns with the sustainability goals of our company and our customers.”

Freudenberg-NOK has oriented its business of producing seals itself to the sustainability mode. The company has created several emission-cutting products that include Low-Emission Sealing Solutions (LESS) products.

Meanwhile, the DOE hopes to increase the number of US employers offering workplace charging under the Workplace Charging Challenge Pledge by tenfold over the next five years.
