Norway Grants First New Wind Farm Licence in Nine Years to Eviny and Norsk Vind
Norway’s energy regulator has granted a development licence for the Moldalsknuten wind farm in Sokndal municipality, Rogaland. Announced October 21, the approval was awarded to renewable-energy developers Eviny and Norsk Vind. The proposed project will have approximately 40 MW of capacity across eight turbines, with expected annual electricity generation of around 104 GWh. The installation will be developed near the existing Tellenes wind farm and Titania mining operations, allowing developers to use established roads and electricity infrastructure. The approval represents Norway’s first licence for a new onshore wind farm in nine years and the first since municipalities received enhanced approval rights in 2023. Construction and commissioning dates remain unconfirmed.
RES Wins Asset Management Contract for 392 MW Pestera II Wind Farm in Romania
