Sumitomo Acquires 49% Stake in Hero Future Energies’ 500 MW Hybrid Project in India

Sumitomo Corporation has agreed to acquire a 49 percent stake in Clean Solar Power (Baniyana), a project company controlled by Hero Future Energies, developing approximately 500 MW of combined solar and wind capacity with 200 MWh of battery storage in Bidar, Karnataka. Hero Future Energies will retain 51 percent ownership through subsidiary Hero Solar Energy. The project is scheduled to begin commercial operations in March 2027. Electricity will primarily be supplied to SJVN under a 25-year power purchase agreement, with surplus generation sold through electricity markets. PetroGreen Secures PHP 1.24 Billion Financing for 33 MW Solar Project in Philippines

Philippine renewable-energy developer PetroGreen Energy Corporation has secured financing of up to PHP 1.24 billion from Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation for the Limbauan Solar Power Project in San Pablo, Isabela. The facility will have approximately 33 MWac/40 MWdc of photovoltaic capacity and will be developed in two phases. The initial 5 MWac phase is backed by a power supply agreement with Isabela II Electric Cooperative. The remaining 28.2 MWac has secured a tariff under the Philippines’ second Green Energy Auction. RCBC Capital will serve as lead arranger, while RCBC Trust will act as facility agent and security trustee. The completed plant is expected to generate approximately 59 GWh annually. Construction and commissioning schedules were not disclosed.

Koehler Secures Approval for 36 MW Rowancraig Wind Farm in Scotland

German renewable-energy developer Koehler Renewable Energy has secured planning approval for its 36 MW Rowancraig Wind Farm near Sanquhar in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The approved development comprises six Vestas V150 turbines rated at 6 MW each, replacing an earlier proposal for eight turbines. The machines will have maximum tip heights of 180 metres. Expected annual generation is approximately 155,430 MWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of around 36,000 households. The project includes a community benefit fund providing approximately £18,000 annually for local initiatives. Planning approval was granted in late September, with the developer confirming the milestone in October. Koehler’s current development schedule targets commissioning in May 2030, subject to remaining project requirements.
