Zelestra and Graphic Packaging Launch 50.4 MW José Cabrera Solar Plant in Spain

Zelestra and Graphic Packaging have inaugurated the 50.4 MWdc José Cabrera solar photovoltaic plant in Pastrana, Guadalajara, marking a key milestone in their renewable energy partnership in Spain. This project is the second of three sites under a long-term virtual power purchase agreement (vPPA), alongside Socovos II (33 MWdc) and Villamañán (19 MWdc), the latter expected to be operational by year-end. The Jose Cabrera plant is projected to generate 83 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power around 24,000 homes, while preventing over 11,500 tons of CO2 emissions each year.

RWE and Apollo Close €3.2 Billion JV to Expand Germany’s Electricity Grid

RWE and Apollo Global Management have finalized their joint venture, securing long-term funding for Amprion’s electricity transmission grid expansion in Germany. Apollo paid €3.2 billion to RWE for an equity stake in the JV, with RWE set to reinvest the funds over the next decade to support the grid expansion program. RWE retains operational control of the JV and continues managing Amprion’s stake, consolidating the venture in its financial statements. Amprion, one of Germany’s four Transmission System Operators, serves around 29 million people across seven federal states. The planned investments aim to strengthen critical energy infrastructure and support Germany’s energy transition objectives.

B.C. Jindal Group Signs 150 MW RTC Renewable Energy PPA with SECI

B.C. Jindal Group has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 150 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy project, part of SECI’s 1,200 MW RTC initiative. The project, won at a tariff of Rs 5.07 per kWh, will include solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS), with commissioning expected within 24 months.

Since entering the renewable energy sector in FY25, the Group has secured 750 MW of projects, involving over Rs 8,000 crore in investment. In FY26 alone, it has won 450 MW from state-owned entities, including a 300 MW solar-plus-storage project from SJVN. Additionally, the Group’s arm, Jindal India Renewable Energy, received a Letter of Award for a 300 MW solar-plus-storage project from NHPC. These initiatives reinforce the Group’s role in supporting India’s 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030. Faheema P
